As you may know, I’m always on the lookout for the next evolution in lip care. When I heard Rhode was venturing into color cosmetics with their peptide-infused tints, I knew I had to get my hands on them ASAP.

Keep on reading to find out my final thoughts on whether these new Rhode babes deserve a permanent spot in your beauty routine.

Rhode Peptide Lip Tints Review

I’ve got to tell ya, discovering the Peptide Lip Tints was like finding a hidden gem. Imagine sheer color that builds up to the intensity you’re craving, all while delivering a glossy sheen that makes lips look irresistibly healthy.

These tints aren’t just about adding a pop of color; they’re designed to melt onto your lips seamlessly, leaving them looking plump and nurtured. Plus, they’re totally fragrance-free. That’s a big win for anyone like me who prefers their beauty products without the overpowering scents. And at .3 fl oz, they’re the ideal size for on-the-go touch-ups.

About The Ingredients

These little wonders are a powerhouse combo — a tint and treatment rolled into one sleek tube. They’re all about restoration, remarkably bringing dry, parched lips back to life. I’ve noticed my lips visibly plump up after using these tints, and they’ve never felt softer.

The secret? They’re designed to lock in moisture so your pout stays smooth and supple all day long. It’s like a rejuvenating drink for your lips, and who doesn’t love that?

Rhode’s Peptide Lip Tints boast a list of goodies that’ll make your lips thank you. We’re talking peptides, which are the building blocks for keeping your lips resilient and ready to face the day.

On top of that, there’s shea butter and babassu that work tirelessly to hydrate and nourish the lips. Last but not least, there’s cupuaçu, which helps maintain skin elasticity, improving suppleness for dry and dehydrated lips

It’s always great to see a product that not only makes you look good but also treats your lips with the care they deserve.

How To Apply

When I first got my hands on these lip tints, I was curious about how they’d fare against my usual go-to lip routine. Here’s the scoop: application is a breeze. These little beauties are seriously foolproof. You can dab them on in a hurry or take your time to layer them up for a more pronounced effect.

I start with clean, bare lips, which is pretty standard. But what’s great about these tints is that they’re buildable. A single swipe gives you a hint of color that’s just enough for a quick errand run or a casual Zoom call. But on days when I’m feeling bolder or have a night out, I’ll layer it over a lip liner for an extra oomph. And yes, they play well with liners!

The real belle of the ball? Layering. I’m no stranger to piling on the product (guilty as charged), and these lip tints don’t feel heavy or sticky – a pet peeve of mine. Plus, they keep my lips feeling silky smooth and hydrated, day or night – that’s a big win in my book.

The Results: Rhode Peptide Lip Tints Review

Throwing on the Rhode Peptide Lip Tints for the first time, I noticed it felt identical to their peptide lip treatment but with a gorgeous sheer tint that truly popped. It’s not every day you get to say a product meets your dreams, but here it is.

The Pigmentation

Shade 1: Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Ribbon

Imagine a satin ballet slipper — soft, elegant, and effortlessly beautiful. That’s exactly what Ribbon offers. As the most delicate of the Rhode Peptide Lip Tints lineup, I find it to be my go-to when I’m aiming for that perfectly glazed look. It’s sheer yet stunningly high-shine with a touch of pink goodness.

On days when I want my lips to look subtlety with a hint of refinement, I reach for Ribbon. It gives a hydrating caress to my lips, leaving them glossy without a hint of tackiness — just velvety hydration that feels like a pampering session for my smile.

Shade 2: Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Toast

Let’s talk about Toast, a shade that evokes the cozy warmth of a hot piece of French toast. It’s the color I gravitate towards when I’m longing for something richer, with a bit more presence yet still subtle. Toast is like the comfort food of my lip tint collection – it offers a velvety smooth finish that nurtures my lips while providing a nuanced flush of color.

It strikes a beautiful balance between nude and rose, crafting a look that’s both understated and captivating. I love how it harmonizes with my natural lip color, amplifying it with a toasty rosiness that’s perfect for a daytime outing or a casual evening affair.

Shade 3: Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Raspberry Jelly

Enter Raspberry Jelly — it’s like taking that juicy, vibrant gloss and turning it all the way up. Vivacious and spirited, this shade makes my lips the center of attention. Raspberry Jelly is my go-to when I want to perk up my look with a pop of berry-infused vibrancy.

It gives a sheer touch of playful color and makes my lips look visibly plump and hydrated. Every swipe feels like a treat, and it’s wonderful how it doesn’t feel heavy. Instead, it enhances my lips with a balmy texture that’s all about boosting moisture.

Shade 4: Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Espresso

Finally, we’ve got Espresso — as rich and bold as a bittersweet shot of its namesake. It’s edgy and definitely makes a statement. Espresso is my trusty sidekick when I’m in the mood for a little extra or an avant-garde twist. It offers my lips with that plush, nourished feeling, and the hue is so uniquely elegant, it’s impossible to miss.

It’s my go-to for nights out or when I’m feeling a bit daring. And despite its intensity, it’s as nourishing as the rest, ensuring my lips stay well-hydrated. Espresso’s depth is perfect for those who love a deeper, more visible shade that doesn’t compromise on lip care.

The Formula

The formula is amazing. It’s just as good as the non-tinted lip treatment version. It’s my favorite lip product since I’ve tried it, and it keeps my lips smooth, hydrated, and soft all day, every day.

On top of the feel, layering does wonders with these lip tints. One swipe gave me this flirty sheer finish, and a couple more made the color richer without looking overdone. I love that this lip tint is buildable!

My lips felt soothed and protected from dryness. And the plumping effect? Instant. I didn’t need to reapply constantly to maintain that moisturized feeling, which is a big win in my book.

The Longevity

Since it is a lip treatment/lip balm type of product, the Rhode Peptide Lip Tints aren’t super long-wearing. I would say 1.5 – 2 hours max until my lips fully absorbed the product. This might be somewhat of a bummer, as I want this lip treatment to stay on all day – but that’s not a realistic wish haha.

It’s super easy to reapply during the day, so I’m not really bothered by the semi-short lifespan of this product. However, if you prefer a longer-wearing product, this isn’t your cup of tea.

The Value

Each Rhode Peptide Lip Tint retails at $16, which I find pretty reasonable for something that’s hydrating and stylish. With four options, there’s a good chance you’ll find your perfect go-to color for those days when you want a touch more than a balm but less than an all-out lipstick.

My Fave Lip Combos: Try Them Yourself!

Since I’m the type who adores a good lip liner, I took my beloved Tower 28 ‘Work Of Art’ Lip Liner and added Espresso on top – but I love this lip liner with Toast, too!

With Ribbon, I love to use another Tower 28 Lip Liner – the shade Fill Me In. This combination is super sweet and pinkish – I love this for when I feel cute or on just normal work days.

Last but not least, Raspberry Jelly looks amazing with MAC Soar Lip Liner beneath it – which makes the color truly pop. If you want it to look a little more subtle, use Make Up For Ever Anywhere Caffeine instead.

Similar Products: You’ve Got Options

I’ve tried my share of lip tints – some of them so sheer they might as well have been lip balms, while others were more like full-on lipsticks. What sets the Rhode Lip Tints apart is their buildable nature while moisturizing the lips.

Unlike some tints that cling to dry patches or settle into lines, these glide on seamlessly and actually treat dryness thanks to their hydrating formula. There’s actually only one product that I have in mind that does compare to the rhode peptide lip tints.

Summer Friday’s Lip Balm

Just like with rhode, Summer Fridays started their lip balm range with a clear version and started adding color options later on. The Summer Friday Lip Balms are actually really good, as well.

The formula feels a little lighter on the lips compared to the rhode lip treatment, but they’re quite a bit more expensive, too. Formula-wise and the amount of hydration, they’re very similar and both very comfortable.

Final Verdict: Is The Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Worth It?

The rhode peptide lip tints are the perfect blend of nourishment for my lips with that pop of color I love. If you’re on the hunt for a lip product that cares as much as its colors, you might want to give these tints a try.

The buzz around rhode is real, and I understand why! Their skincare products are basic yet very good. Especially their lip treatments are one of my favorite products and these tints are no exception. I even have them out on my vanity – which I never do because of aesthetics – so I can use them all the time!

Stepping into color cosmetics with a product that’s more than just a “sheer but buildable” gloss is an impressive move. I’m keeping an eye out to see what they do next because if it’s anything like these lip tints, we’re all in for a treat.
